Breathing in a memory

I am grateful for the honeysuckle bursting into bloom in my back yard...its sweet scent takes me back to being a kid in Georgia, and I love to remember the many summer days I spent harvesting the flowers and drinking the nectar off the stems like some kind of over-sized hummingbird:)

  1. Awesome! Of all the scents of my childhood, honeysuckle is the most memorable. It takes me back to joy-filled, recess playground days in Gadsden, Alabama at St James Catholic School where I attended grades one thru four. Our school yard was fenced in by huge masses of honeysuckle vines, and there was nothing better than topping off lunch or a marble game with a few sweet shots of honeysuckle nectar...the "gatorade" of hummingbirds.

  2. I like your dad's comment. It's funny to think of our parents on the playground as kids :). Soon enough we'll have kids that'll think we're funny...
