fish with eyes
Last night, I was putting my son to bed and I closed the book he was reading and he asked me if I "saved" it. He meant did I keep his place, but he loves video games so much he transfers the terms to other things which cracks me up. He also sometimes refers to real people as "characters," not in the usual sense of a funny acting person but in the sense of a character in a book or movie. I was also reading my daughter a book about penguins, which she loves. She said she would like to visit Antarctica and build a house there, but that she would bring her own food because she didn't want to eat fish "with eyes" like penguins do. Their perspective on things constantly makes me smile and think, and brings me joy.

Awesome! Yes, kids offer a perspective completely unique and incredible. It amazes me that we were all kids... having the same bazaare thought processes and yet lost that perspective to "reasonable thought" somewhere along the way. Kids bring it back. I'm stealing yours.
ReplyDeleteFish with eyes! I love it. I have the biggest smile on my face right now:)
ReplyDeletehaha - great! love those little munchkins :)
ReplyDeleteWeird, I posted a comment last night and it doesn't seem to have shown up. But those kids are so adorable and I wish they could be put in a pickle jar and never grow up! Although I'm sure they will get cuter and say even funnier things as they grow :)
ReplyDeleteYep, if that's not a ringing endorsement for vegetarianism I don't know what is :). Fish with eyes. Adorable yes... but truly poignant in its perspective. The perfect cutlet on our sandwich wasn't always that way...
